The Round Table Discussion on Public Policy Initiation Regarding Development of Mechanism in Support of National Justice Transparency Act was conducted at the Ministry of Justice on March 10, 2010
The activity had the aim to identify mechanisms that would support justice transparency and establish a publicity system of court decisions - open to the public.
The developed action has been being part of the framework of Government Action Program of Moldova „European Integration: Liberty, Democracy, Welfare 2009-2013”, which presumes development of the rule of law state and promotion of justice reform.
That forum had an objective to launch a process of consultation with interested actors regarding the effectiveness of Justice Transparency Act.
In the framework of discussion, the Ministry of Justice Working Group presented to the participants a Project on Public Policy Initiation Regarding Development of Mechanism in Support of National Justice Transparency Act, which was widely discussed in regard to the implementation options to resolve the problem.
Also, participants defined the problems of the current National Transparency Act and relevant public policies’ administrative, economic, and social impacts upon state and civil society.
The participants of the Round Table Discussion were the representatives of Superior Magitry Council, Ministry of Justice, Lawyers Office of the Republic of Moldova, General Prosecutor Office, State University of Moldova, National Council for Participation, Center for Analyzes and Combating Corruption, Institute of Crime Reforms, of civil society, mass-media and academics fields.
The PRISA Foundation was represented by the Executive Director, Valeriu Mija, who offered the Foundation experts’ analysis regarding discussed options to participants.
